The University of Miami announced that senior tight end Christopher Herndon IV will have season-ending knee surgery this coming week. Herndon left during the second half of the game against the Panthers with a noticeable limp and it was confirmed that he sustained an injury to the MCL in his left knee.
Still, the No. 3 Hurricanes overcame all those factors and rallied back from a 14-point third quarter deficit by scoring 30 straight points over the final 27 minutes to come away with a 44-28 win over the visiting Cavaliers Saturday – sending their upperclassmen out with a win on Senior Day and allowing the 63,415 fans at Hard Rock Stadium to breathe a sigh of relief.
