Let the madness begin.
The University of Miami – as well as 67 other teams – learned their seedings in the upcoming NCAA March Madness Tournament Sunday afternoon – with the Hurricanes earning the No. 6 seed in the South bracket.
Miami (22-9) will face Loyola-Chicago (28-5) on March 15 at the American Airlines Center.
It is the fourth time in head coach Jim Larrañaga’s seven-year tenure at Miami that he’s led the Hurricanes to the NCAA tournament. UM was knocked out in the first round of the tournament this past season.
The Hurricanes, who were knocked out in the quarterfinals of the ACC championship tournament this past weekend, were given a tough draw being seeded in the South bracket. Tournament overall No. 1 seed Virginia will also play out of the South, as will SEC tournament champion Kentucky and PAC-12 champ Arizona.
If UM gets past the Ramblers in the first round, it would face the winner of Tennessee (No. 3) and Wright State (No. 14).
